Elite Baseball League Has Some Openings
The Elite Baseball League - EBL - has a vacancy and is looking for a few solid, dedicated owners.
The teams available are Orlando Sharks Reading Railroaders New York Empires Midlothian Monsoon Minnesota Moose All need a steady hand and an owner with a long-term vision. Its been a while since more than one or two teams were available in the off-season, but I dont anticipate the teams languishing without an owner for long. The EBL is one of the toughest around, with some of the best and brightest owners going. It is also one of the best leagues in terms of participation, with a participation level, sim in and sim out, of about 90% While there are some dynasties, in the playoffs anything can happen and usually the best team chokes. We are starting our 9th season, and the league originally started as an OOTP v3 league under Heath Peters in November, 2001, with 30 teams involved in an initial draft. In May, 2003, prior to the 2007 season, we moved to OOTP v5. The league has 18 games of inter-league play and the American League uses the designated hitter, while the National League does not. As a commish I am a firm believer in participation, as teams that win are invariably those whose owners give a damn and do whats necessary to either get their team to the top or keep it there. As such, for each sim, I require at least an email saying "no changes". This lets me know that at least the owner took a look at his team between sims. I am an active owner in the league (Vancouver Armageddons) and have been since the beginning. My team is a regular season powerhouse, thanks to one hell of a fine initial draft (one of only a few teams to go exclusively with prospects) and some crafty trading, but "The Curse" always, without fail, cripples me come playoff time, almost comically finding ways to lose when it matters most (that damn karma thing). If anyone is interested in either team please check out the league site, the rules, and then get back to me. When sending me an email, let me know your OOTP experience, any leagues you have been in or are currently in. Please include URLs of the past or present leagues, as I prefer to get recommendations about prospective owners from other Commishes or owners I know in order to avoid constant team turnover. Cheers, Dean Gordon Commish - GMC, EBL, NABL |

As a former owner in the league, I can say it's a very well done league and any owner that gets aboard can expect a fun ride.
