Pirates finally sign someone

Okay, so they were going to arbitration anyway, but the Pirates have signed two of the three W's. Kip Wells is reported to have signed a one year $2.5 million deal, and no word on how much Craig Wilson was signed for, but I'd say probably in the $1-1.5M range. Would have liked to see them commit to Wells for more than one year, but it's good they were able to come to an agreement with him before arbitration, as he'd probably have gotten a good deal in arbitration, as his ERA's been stellar over the years, but he hasn't been getting the wins thanks in large part to the Pirates poor bullpen this past year, and their poor offense the year before. Wilson was going to be kind of an up in the air case if he'd gone to arbitration as he's shown some promise but just hasn't gotten the playing time. If he was signed for more than $1.5 million, I'd say the Bucs should have went to arbitration. Just Jack Wilson left, and he shouldn't be any problems, no way he's gonna make more than $750k or so in any arbitration case.

I will bet money that Wilson ends up at around 1.25M or so..

All I know is that the Pirates look like one team our team can beat!

The Dodgers can beat the Brewers too. Hell, their pitching is so bad they'll probably make those terrible Dodger hitters look more like a lineup of 8 Barry Bonds and Mike Hampton.

I wasn't aware that Pittsburgh still had a major league team.

hey, they pretend to try to field a major league team. That's better than the Brewers not even trying.

The Brewers signed Ben Grieve, they're going to win it all this year. If they could get Tony Womack and bring back Jose Mercedes, they might have a dynasty for the next 5-10 years.
