I'm using OOTP4 to replay the 2002 season day by day, incorporating roster and lineup changes on a daily basis and then simming most games (except for my beloved Cubs and Mariners). Right now I've finished games of April 21, which included a rescheduled game between Boston and KC, made up from an earlier rainout as the 2nd game of a doubleheader on this day.
I had no trouble deleting the game (using Edit Schedule) from the day on which it was scheduled to be played, and when I got to April 21 I was able to add it to the schedule for that day, and play it, with no trouble. But---when all the games for that day (a full slate, plus the extra Bos-KC game) had been played or simmed, the program didn't move ahead to the next day as it usually does. When I go back and forth from the Standings screen and the Schedule screen, I'm always looking at the standings at the end of April 21 and the schedule of games played on that day. Every game displays a result, indicating that all games for that day have been played, but I can only access the Schedule display for April 22 by manually changing the display to that day--the Schedule screen looks the same way it does whenever you go to a day more than one day ahead of the day currently being played. So, how can I advance my league to make the games of April 22 available for playing? Or did I ruin the league forever by playing 16 games on a day when only 15 games were originally scheduled? |

Have you tried just selecting "simulate day" from the schedule screen?

Well, when I did select "simulate day" (thanks for the tip), everything seemed to turn out OK. In the upper right corner of the screen, just after I selected "simulate day," I got a line score for the game between the White Sox and the Tigers. That suggests that the game had just been simulated---but I had already simmed the game for that day between the two teams. Before I selected "simulate day," the schedule display for April 21 already included a result for that game. Somehow, apparently, that game didn't "take," and as far as the software was concerned, it had not actually been played already.
Just wondering--can I expect similar problems as I move through the schedule and modify it from day to day as necessary? |

Not sure as I know that I have changed the schedule around a bit, but I try to stay away from stuff like that as much as possible. Something you might want to do is that at the times when you are going to change the schedule you might want to make a backup copy of the league at that point.(Just to be safe).
