Logo Request - Albany Thrashers

I'd like to make a request to the logo gods here for an 'Albany Thrashers' logo.
I did some research - a thrasher is a bird, so if you could toss a bird on there, that'd be great, but of course anything you'd like to do is great.
I'd like a 1950's-era logo - meaning that I don't want anything too modern - but not too classical either.
Essentially, I don't know what I'm talking about, but I'd sure appreciate any help.

Jeff, looks very nice.
Would it be a real pain-in-the-tail (pun intended) to move the bird around a bit so it doesn't cover the letter 'h' in "Thrashers"? It looks like a tight squeeze.
Appreciate the help (and all the work you've done with Baseball Mogul as well!).

I could make it so "Thrashers" is in the foreground.

Nice colors and lettering.

You always do a very nice job of trimming the lettering.

The yellow trim really show off the orange lettering.

I like to see all of the lettering on logos, too.
