Post 3 more scoring bugs...

Apologies in advance if these have been noted...

1) AI assumes DP. If runner on 1st and 3rd, 0 or 1 out, potential DP groundball hit to IF which is then booted for an error, AI will not award RBI to batter when runner from 3rd scores.

2) If error in inning allows runner to reach base, any runs that score after two out are unearned, even if the runner who reached on an error is out on a CS or a DP. Ex: Batter reaches on error, next batter hits into DP, next batter hits HR. The HR is counted as an unearned run.

3) Ball thrown away by IF. On the routine ground ball that is thrown away by an IF allowing the hitter to advance to 2nd, if a runner is on 2nd when the ball is hit, the batter is credited with an RBI when that runner scores. This should be an unearned run.

Also there are no "pure" 2 base throwing errors--on the throwing errors that allow a runner to reach 2nd, the batter is always awarded a hit.

2) If there is an error that should've ended the inning, every run after that is unearned

#1 & #2 you are correct.

#3 - The batter should get an RBI for this. RBI's have nothing to do with unearned/earned runs when they score on a hit. Or maybe you were just stating that and that's not the problem

The run is unearned if he would not have scored by what followed in the inning. IF the guy after hits a HR, the runner would have come home no matter what base he was on, so it would be earned. But if the pitcher struck out the next three batters, that runner should not have scored, thus it is unearned.
