ITP happiness/unhappiness is...

(H)... being drafted by a last place team, making your way to the pros and in your third year have the best record in baseball with that same team, feeling like you are the reason for the turnaround!

(UN)...being on worst to first team, best record in the majors, up by 8 games, brake your hand and will be out for 5 weeks, and watching your teams lead grow to 13 games while you are out realizing how important you really are to your teams success.

Happiness is landing a $6.5 million dollar - 3 year contract as your first contract.

Unhappiness is learning that the team went on a free agent spending spree, and you're stuck in the mop-up reliever role, praying for a teammate in the rotation to get injured so you can step in.

ITP Happiness is getting called up to the majors for six days, never playing, and getting a big fat paycheck for it.

ITP Unhappiness is drinking with a catcher.

Happiness is hitting a grand slam with a hangover.

Unhappiness is getting injured in a bar fight and ruining your 9 game hitting streak.

Happiness is buying Wonderboy

Unhappiness is mistakenly putting it up for auction.

Happiness is finally getting a Major League contract ten years into your career.

Unhappiness is that your ratings have been maxed out for several years and you have nothing to spend your money on.

Happiness is getting traded from Tampa Bay, last place, to the Mets, first place on July 15th.

Unhappiness is getting traded BACK to Tampa Bay 6 days later, FOR THE SAME PLAYER.

That's hilarious Mikem...guess the teams decided they were happier with their old problems rather than new ones?

Happiness & unhappiness simultaneously -

1. Drafted by horrible Tampa Bay (bad) but becoming their best player in your second season with 31 dingers and 106 rbis. (good)

2. Traded from perennial last place Tampa to first place Oakland (good) but moving from hitters park to the foul territory capital of the world and watching your offensive stats take an immediate downturn. (bad)

Being drafted by Anaheim, tearing through their minor league system in 1 year, only to be trapped behind an outfield of Garrett Anderson, Darin Erstad, and Tim Salmon. Right now, I'm praying for a trade to someone who needs me.

Then they go out and sign pretty boy Gabe Kapler as a backup! Looks like I could be waiting awhile for playing time.

Happiness is batting .353, 28 HR, 114 RBI and winning an MVP in your 2nd full big league season.

Unhappiness is following that MVP season up with .194, 11, 25 season and being demoted to AAA.

Also, unhappiness is the same guy being forced to retire with 754 career HRs.

Happiness is taking an Obsessive-Driven future HOFer to play in Colorado at age 36 and watching him sparkle and win his sixth MVP award.

Unhappiness is having that same player's ratings drop so far in the offseason that he can't even get at bats anymore. :-(

Happiness is this:

Being drafted out of high school by the Los Angeles Stars in the 4th round and after tooling around in the minors for 4 years and then being called up to the show. Then having a solid rookie year before being sent back down in August. Finishing the year 8-5 with a 3.87 ERA and being traded in January to the Eastern League's joke, Detroit. 20 games back in May I get traded to Washington, 2 games out of first. We win the pennant and I have a tough year, 10-9 with a 4.78 ERA. Guess who wins the Western League pennant? Los Angeles. I get the start in game 1 of the World Championship and BEAT the bastards that traded me.

Unhappiness is facing them in game 7 and losing...

Happiness is realizing buying the Wonderboy is a few weeks away pay.

Unhappiness is when you get injured for 4 weeks and your ratings dip so you can't qualify for Wonderboy. Then, you turn 34 years old and your ratings never go back up and you're stuck with some factory bat.

Happiness is my 240 win career up until the age of 35

Unhappiness is the ratings plummet after that and watching the 300 win train leave without me on it.
