Game slows down

Is it just me and my PC, or does the postgame saving take a lot longer once you reach the Major Leagues?

I enjoy simming day-to-day and playing in my games, but this just takes too long at the ML level. I may have to switch to simming a week at a time and not playing in-games. Very frustrating.
