Outrageous offensive #'s during "The Rebirth of Baseball"-era (HELP NEEDED)

Hey guys,

I got OOTP5 back on New Year's Eve after two monthes without it. My addiction to the game that I once had is now back. I've been able to complete 29 seasons in my historical franchise, so I now am in 1930. But, these past couple of seasons I've been seeing ridiculous offensive numbers and I thinking it's killing a lot of the fun I have with the game.

Here are the batting averages and ERAs over the past couple of seasons:

1920: .295 AL / .289 NL | 4.48 AL / 4.39 NL
1921: .314 AL / .314 NL | 5.31 AL / 5.16 NL
1922: .316 AL / .314 NL | 5.04 AL / 5.36 NL
1923: .314 AL / .303 NL | 5.19 AL / 5.10 NL
1924: .315 AL / .303 NL | 5.19 AL / 4.97 NL
1925: .319 AL / .302 NL | 5.59 AL / 4.85 NL
1926: .309 AL / .295 NL | 5.44 AL / 4.79 NL
1927: .316 AL / .297 NL | 5.42 AL / 5.05 NL
1928: .317 AL / .312 NL | 5.50 AL / 5.26 NL
1929: .315 AL / .314 NL | 5.76 AL / 5.56 NL

As you can see, those averages of BA and ERA are a little outrageous considering it's supposed to be in an ERA of not much offense.

Just so you know, I DO click the "Reacculate for historical accuracy"-button before each season.

Anyone have a clue to what I can do to fix this? It's a bit of an annoyance.

Thanks,
-Anthony

They're a bit high, but I think you're not as far off as you think. Batting averages actually made a HUGE jump in the 20's and it gets even worse in the 30's. You may be thinking of the amount of HR's. 1921 marked the end of the deadball era and the next 20 years were witness to some of the highest batting averages in history.

Check it out HERE.

I'd say you're about 5-10% too high. After recalculating, just multiply all your totals manually by something around 1.05 or 1.1 (excluding At bats). That should give you the results you want.

Ah, alright. I didn't know the offense was that good during the 20's and 30's. Some of my pitchers, who had their "Runs Against" rated as a 9-10 were sporting an ERA of 4-5+.

Anyways, thanks for your help.
