Post Top Ten Baseball Songs

The situation is this. I need some music to play while I'm playing OOTP 4. Silence scares me. Since OOTP 4 is a baseball game I would appreciate it if you would list your top 10 baseball favorites listing the artist and title. Thanx

How about Tchaikovsky's first violin concerto? Greig's Peer Gynt suite? Beethoven's 5th piano concerto? Brahms Hungarian Dance No.1? Liszt Hungarian Rhapsody No.1? Mozart piano sonata op.333? Strauss horn concerto?

IMO we are best off abandoning that sinking ship that is Off Topic to the rats infesting it and just starting a whole new Baseball Forum from scratch.

Impressive list Tarkus. Here are some other considerations...

Centerfield - John Fogerty
Glory Days - Bruce Springsteen
Paradise by the Dashboard Light - Meat Loaf (at least the lovemaking segment )

Already listed here:
D-O-D-G-E-R-S Song (Oh Really? No O'Malley) - Danny Kaye
Centerfield – John Forgerty
Willie Mickey & The Duke (Talkin' Baseball) - Terry Cashman

Songs I have not seen listed yet:
It’s a Beautiful Day for a Ballgame – Harry Simeone (anyone who listened to Dodger games on the radio throughout the 70’s and 80’s will know this one. It was played before every Dodger radio pre-game show for decades)
You’ve Got to Have Heart – Damn Yankees

And of course the theme music from The Natural and Field of Dreams

Try searching on a napster like program, just type in a team name!

How about Queen's "We will, we will rock you!"

Arguably this is the definative all-purpose sports anthem. Curious that the all American sports anthem was written by a quartet of British homosexuals. Maybe we can convince Marylin Manson to write a song about cricket.

"Talkin' Softball" (The Simpsons), and any old radio beer ads ("From the land of sky blue water (water)... Comes the beer that's made for brewing (brewing)... Hamms, in aluminum cans" ). I also like the Bill Murray version of Take Me Out To The Ballgame...

Absolutely. I was about to reply with Cheap Seats when I saw this post. This is one of the best baseball songs there is.

Um, only Freddie Mercury was gay, I believe.

"Not that there's anything wrong with it."

And "Glory Days" is NOT a baseball song. A catchy riff, but it is not about baseball.
