ITP and OTP

If we were in court I'm sure there would be an objection to this question as asked and answered, but since we're not: can somebody tell me how this game interacts with OTP5? Can you create a player, let him get drafted and get him up to AAA, then import him into your OOTP career on whatever team he was on in ITP? That would be pretty cool. I'm not sure whether this is a stand alone game or whether it's sort of like TCY and FOF, where you can import your TCY players and have them drafted in FOF if you want to.

I don't think much has been said about how the two games interact. What we do know is that you can import your OOTP5 league into ITP. But from what I understand, your ITP stays in ITP. He doesn't cross over to OOTP5. I can't confirm this, though.

I was wondering the same. Even though I don't play OOTP much during basketball season, I'm still curious.

As far as I can remember, the interaction between OOTP 5 and ITP is strictly the ability to import OOTP 5 leagues into ITP.

what if one tries to import one of the online league files into the game. Would one need to have the password?

I think it shoudl require the password or else this would be almost a way to cheat.

You don't have commish control in ITP. I'd imagine it would require the password anyway, but in any case you wouldn't be able to see any ratings or edit anything on the teams.

but if we were allowed to import the league without any password, we wouldn't need to see the ratings, just the stats would be sufficient enough for us to see how the players are going to do in the "future".

not necessarily... each sim would produce different (sometimes significant) results. Also, it's not like you could alter the league file and upload it. Really no point other than to see what might happen... not what will happen.

When ITP was first announced, I asked if we'd be able to import to and from OOTP and at that time was told that was the plan. Now, it seems as if it is a one way street... from OOTP to ITP. Probably best for the first release and something to add for the second.

Yes, it would produce different results each time, but similar results the majority of the time. Therefore if I were to import my online league I an see that which players are actually good and which are just waste of time.
