Large Leagues, Spring Training and Free Agency.

I have a 36 team league. I can't select the 33rd, 34th, 35th, and 36th team from the Spring Training menu, nor the 34th on down on the free agent "Signing Team" menu. They run off the bottom of the screen. Also during the draft, the draft order column splits after 15 teams, and the second column disappears below rge bottom.

I guess I have to make sure I never take over Yuma....

Cleo says you probably have the windows task bar in the way - sometimes Cleo's doesn't go away either, but Cleo minimizes the game and maximizes it again, and it is A-OK, mon.

No task bar. The menu extends downward from "Select Team" when I put my cursor over the hot spot, and runs off the bottom of the screen. "Utica" is only half visible. Vicksburg, Wheeling, Winston-Salem, and Yuma are totally inaccessable.

A similar menu on the Team portion of the Records screen also fails to disappear when I accidentally allow my cursor to leave it as I bring it down the menu, or if I accidentally cause the menu to appear by passing my cursor over the hot spot. But at least this whole menu is usable. The list on the Spring Training screen starts too low on the screen for a long list to be entirely visible. This is also the case with the draft order during the draft, but since that is not a menu, just an informational list, it doesn't really effect play.

The game can take 40 teams, and I'm told it was tested extensively, so I must presume it was tested with 40 teams. I believe it was tested with 40 teams. I'm too familiar with the people I know to be testers to imagine at least one of them wouldn't have tried to max the program out. I'm also aware of at least one other poster in the system who is running a 40 team league.

That being said, I may be the first person to want to select a team other than the one brought up by default on the spring training menu, and that the team I wanted to select happened to be numbered higher than 33. Most people are handling one team, and that team is defaulted, or team 1 if all teams are CPU. Thing was, I'm simming my league to give it it's history, so it's all CPU. A rising star was traded in the off season, and I wanted to see how his new team was going to train him.

I need to post a correction to my previous complaint, however. I noticed yesterday that the menu doesn't start any lower on the screen than, say, the Free Agent menu (which is entirely selectable). What is different is the spacing between the city names.

The game was tested extensively but I am not certain that it was tested in every possible mode with every possible league configuration on every available OS. It's not that easy to do and I know that I have run across some users doing things that make no sense yet they want to do it that way, that is not the case here but it has come up. If there is a problem we will look into it.

SSG Troyer - it's been mentioned during testing, but I'd guess the priority is not there since most users will not run these large leagues. From what I recall in the FA screen you cannot actually choose a team beyond team #36 - I forget whether that was worse in the Spring Training screen due to where the drop down menu was located. The teams running offscreen and outside the box in the ammy draft pages was also brought up, but IMO that mostly just looks bad and does not effect gameplay much.

yeah, I have this problem too.

Seems to me just changing the spacing would fix this. Shouldn't be to hard.

Can we get any kind of response one way or another from the game designers?

Molson ... they did. In this thread. OOTP1 responded, and so did one of the beta testers, Killibrew.

They're aware of the problem, but have deemed it to be of a lower priority. It's on the table, and (I presume) will be dealt with in turn.

That's good enough for me. They've all done such a great job already.....
