Ankit Career DB question
I have downloaded the AnkitDB and the Ankit Career DB.
When I import Babe Ruth he doesn't have his career ratings, but has the ratings for the year he was imported. I imported him in 1920, 21 and 22 and did not get the same ratings. They were his ratings for each year. I thought Ankit's career database would give you the player's career ratings. I created a historical league...assigned "c:\stats2" as the AnkitDB and used "c:\ankitcareer" to import each player. This seems to work the same way as the Lahman DB, which required a lot of ratings editing. I was under the impression the Ankit DB/Career DB would greatly reduce the ratings revisions. Do I have to import the player in his rookie year to get his career ratings? What am I doing incorrectly? Last edited by Eugene Church; 12-04-2003 at 09:51 PM. |

What you need to do is start an initial league using the original database. This will give you a league with regular ratings (start this from c:\stats2). At the end of each season, import rookies from c:\ankitcareer (the career DB) and you should get the career ratings. I dont think you can start your initial season using the career database.
I believe, since players in the career DB should only have one entry, to import Babe Ruth, you would need to import him into an existing league, using the career database with his rookie season (not sure what it is in Ankits DB...In RL it was 1914. I hope this works for you |
