Thumbs down In Playoffs, relief pitchers starting not the Starters

I was right at the postseason part of my historical league which I started in 1982. I bought OOTP 4, and was about to start the postseasons when Version 4b came out this past week. I downloaded it and installed it. I played the 1st game of the Divisional Championships and went to sim the 2nd game. Well, my starter was Mike Witt (SP). When I went to look at the results of the game, my closer (Dave Beard) had started the game and pitched 6 innings. Well, I looked at his ratings and he had a SP duration of E but his role was set as Closer. Plus, Mike Witt had pitched 5 days earlier so I figured that the computer replaced Witt with Beard since Witt had pitched 5 days earlier. However, Witt was not tired.

Well, for game 3, I simmed again, and this time, my MR (Gene Walters) started the game instead of my #3 SP. Gene did not have a rating for SP and his role was Middle Reliever. Frustrated, I went and played game 4, and made sure my #3 SP started the game. I simmed the game once I was in it. This time my actual Starter started the game. I simmed game #5 and Gene Walter started the game again.

Frustrated, I went ahead and played game 6 and simmed once the game started. My team advanced to the World Series and I simmed the games once I was in the actual game.

Has anybody else reported this? Is there anything I can do to get around it? FYI-the computer controlled teams actually started their Starters and not Relievers. Although, in a 6 game series, Bruce Hurst started 3 times. Very interesting.

Have you guys both seen this with the second release of the 4.0b patch? The date on the downloads page is March 17, (although I think it actually was released yesterday).

Get it from here:

If this doesn't cure the problem please let us know.

His update to the patch fixes this problem.

First of all, this is definitely not beta. In fact, this problem arose due to tweaking the code for the second patch in 2 weeks. Feel lucky it is getting tuned, as opposed to EA or 3DO, which leave you with the game as-is, bugs and all.

Hornitos,

If you've ever beta tested software before, you would know that this game is way beyond that level.

Take a look at any good game on the market and you'll see that there is good feedback and support given to take care of issues that are found.

If you want to buy a Beta, pick up HH2k3. I can't even run that right on my Win 2k system. Basically, they're not supporting an OS that's 2 years old. Good work there. But, what do we get? On field coaches.... ooooohhhh.
