Southern League Needs Owners
The Southern League (http://www.twyst.org/~mudbug/SL/), which has been
running since 1993, is in need of owners to take over a number of teams that have become vacant. The SL is a replay league that uses current MLB players, but the teams themselves are fictional. Until this season, the SL's first using OOTP, the league was divided into strict AL and NL leagues, and AL teams could only draft AL players and likewise for the NL, and there was no interleague play or interleague trades. Thus, owners could have one team in each league. Since the move to OOTP as the sim engine, those restrictions have been removed and owners can now only own a single team. So, a number of owners have had to give up teams. Those teams have been run by the AI to start the season, but the preference is for human owners. Because the league is new to using OOTP, owning OOTP is NOT required. In fact, because of the circumstances of the commissioner's net access, the league file is not available for download, and all league business is conducted via e-mail. Some details of the league: -- 2 leagues, 2 divisions of 5 teams in each league -- Financials, coaches/scouts and minors turned off -- 3 games per sim, one sim every weekday -- the league is currently using 2002 major league players, and is running 3 games per sim to finish out this season so that the next season, with 2003 stats, can be started before the 2004 MLB season starts. Next season will have one game per sim, one sim per weekday. -- Next season, minors will be turned to provide for a 40-man roster. 8 teams are available, some good and some not as good: Phoenix Scorchers Sacramento Titans Bakersfield Bombers Las Vegas Aces Tulsa Twisters Birmingham Stags Jacksonville Panthers Marietta Rebels If you are interested in a team, PM me here, or e-mail the commissioner at mudbug@twyst.org
