logo request - Tokyo Samurai
I'm looking to rename my team to the Tokyo Samurai and would appreciate anyone helping me out with a logo.
I have no preference for any particular colours, so feel free to let your imagination run wild. |

I've got a great idea, but it may take a while to do. I've got to grab an image from a complex background, and I'm not very good at this stuff. Hopefully I can do it though, we'll see.

My ambition is much greater than my talent. So I just took the image, cropped the background and blurred it. If anyone wants to play with it they are more than welcome.

I'd have such an easier time with logos if I could do text. MSPaint and Adobe Photoshop Elements don't do text well however.

Thought I would try this one using a circle logo. Oh by the way in the game the black around the circle wont show up.
By the way those are great Scott.

scotto and nml: excellent work as always.
nml, your colors are always so vivid...your fonts and trims always show up in the game so well. I think you did my alltime favorite...Caracas Lions...the one with the embroidered effect. What is the secret? Many times my logos have white spots on the trim and fonts. I don't see this happen on your logos. Can anything be done to correct them? |

Eugene before I answer your question I would like to point out that anyone is welcome to ask how I do things. I started using PSP back when Sierra did their last ill fated FPSFB, did about 26 team BOA files. Each one was a learning experience and the group that was working on the BOAsa gave my tips and as we discovered more of what PSP could do we expanded our abilities. PSP or what ever graphics program is like a very nice wood working tool, once you learn how to use the tool you can make some pretty nice things. So with that said Im happy to pass on the things that I have learned to help get the most out of the tool.
For your question. First I have learned to work in layers, as many as I need. Its much easier to turn layer off an on and to use tools on just one layer. PSP as a tool called the replacement tool, its easy to use and allows you to replace colors (like true black) quickly. Use the eye dropped tool and left click on the current color (lets say pure black), then either use the eye dropper to pick the color you want to use, or set the right mouse button to a deep shade of gray, I use (15,15,15). Then choose the color replacement tool, if you are doing a whole layer set the size to the largest, then with that layer active push and hold down the right mouse button and move the cursor over the whole area to replace. This will change pure black to the grey shade. Notice since Im working in layers, I can have a background layer that is pure black, and in the case of OOTP will not show up in the game, and the replacer tool wont effect that since it is not the active layer. Hope this helps. There are many ways to change color hues, brghtness, contrast , etc. using PSP. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask.
