Say it ain't so Joe

Although it likely will never happen, I will lobby for banned OF "Shoeless" Joe Jackson to finally have his ban lifted and be allowed into the Hall where he belongs!

I thought Shoeless Joe required unanimous consent of the Summer of '49 owners, so as long as I remained in the league, the Hall would remain cheater-free.

Oh, and I would like to encourage everyone to vote for Bobby Doerr because he played for the Red Sox.

Looks like you're going to have to boot some guys out, if indeed you profess to have a cheater free Hall of Fame. Or are we only talking about cheating on Baseball, which I believe Joe was actually found innocent of in a court of law wasn't he? You are right though, unanimous vote is what Nathan requires. Jim

C'mon people...Russ Christopher was the pioneer of the closer position. 350 saves before 1960...how can he not get in...Russ Christopher needs your support!

Because Russ Christopher was an Indian. And those wily Indians always managed to outlast the bridesmaids in Boston. Forcing us into exile in San Francisco.

Forget Uhle...What about Hal Newhouser!!! The guy was absolutely dominant on the mound until his career ending injury and now he skippered the Tigers to 2 pennants and a World Championship! He completely reveresed the clubs fortunes!

Regardless, this is a much better thread then all the other mfitterer and cheater ones....All the negativity is starting to ruin my vibes

I'm with you Jim on Shoeless Joe.... He should be in the Hall. Leave it to some 2 bit future lawyer from Jersey to throw the wrench in our campaigning! As if there aren't already enough lawyers in Jersey

Leave it some 2 bit current lawyer from Jersey to campaign for Shoeless Joe in the Hall. Though I agree that there are too many lawyers in Jersey.

I voted for Russ Christopher, that is a great record for the Indians, and deserves a lot more consideration for the position.

Thanks TC!

Russ and Uhle need some love from the voters...Gordon and Boudreau seem to be locks at this point but I when you think of those great SO49 Indians title winners you have to include Christopher and "The Bull".

It does seem to be a lot of Cleveland players... I don't see too many former Giants listed either. I definately think it is a conspiracy, or wait maybe our teams just sucked.

No White Sox either- a little strange since Eddie Malone retired this year, perhaps the greatest backup catcher in the history of So'49.
