is this possible?

here's the situation: AI is at bat, im on defense. No outs, no count, a D speed runner on 1st (Camarena) and a C range 3B (De la Rosa),

"its lined
between short and third
De la Rosa dives...
and he makes a terrific catch!!
That will make the highlight reel!
Camarena is too far off the base...
and De La Rosa just steps on the base for the out!
Double Play!"

ok, am i missing something here? even if the runner was going on a hit and run, had Kenny Lofton speed he'd still need to be out at 1B.

very strange...

Well... definately a glitch in the PbP, but I guess I would "picture it" as a throw to first for the out.

It happens sometimes. De La Rosa is just very very very very fast, and Lofton slipped and fell on muddy basepaths.

except it was more like Damian Miller running...

now that i think about it, i need to check the log and see who was credited with the putout and possibly an assist. if its de la rosa (the 3B), then i imagine its more of a game glitch than the PbP.

Or just a really, really long dive.

Was there a rain delay before the game? Maybe the field was still slippery, and De La Rosa just slid all the way over to first.
