Maelstrom Legends, the 2nd Coming
My co-commish and I are trying to plan well in advance. Our league started with each team led by one Legend from the franchises history or identifiable with a team. We want to be prepared for when the original Legends retire 20 years down the road. Our question: Who would be the next best player to represent each team? Keep in mind that it may be a player who is currently playing since 20 years down the road they will have long since retired. We appreciate your input.
ORIGINAL LEGENDS: AL EAST Baltimore: Cal Ripken Boston: Ted Williams Cleveland: Bob Feller New York: Babe Ruth Toronto: Joe Carter AL CENTRAL Chicago: Joe Jackson Detroit: Ty Cobb Kansas City: George Brett Milwaukee: Robin Yount Minnesota: Harmon Killebrew AL WEST Anaheim: Rod Carew Oakland: Mark McGwire Seattle: Edgar Martinez Texas: Roger Clemens (a native Texan) NL EAST Atlanta: Hank Aaron Montreal: Tim Raines New York: Tom Seaver Philadelphia: Mike Schmidt NL CENTRAL Chicago: Ernie Banks Cincinnati: Pete Rose Pittsburgh: Roberto Clemente St. Louis: Stan Musial NL WEST Houston: Nolan Ryan Los Angeles: Sandy Koufax San Diego: Tony Gwynn San Francisco: Willie Mays |

I like the idea of players famous for other reasons, mostly because its my idea
![]() Examples: Seattle (Pilots) - Jim Bouton Kansas City - Buddy Biancalana Minnesota - Les Straker Cleveland - Joe Charbaoneau New York (A) - Kevin Maas San Diego - Mark Davis Actually I'm enjoying thinking about the players. Maybe I'll just do it myself .

I left some blank, but these are the ones off the top of my head...
AL EAST Baltimore: Eddie Murray Boston: Fred Lynn Cleveland: New York: You gotta bring in The Mick Toronto: Tom Henke AL CENTRAL Chicago: Carlton Fisk Detroit: Lance Parrish Kansas City: Bret Saberhagen Milwaukee: Paul Molitor Minnesota: Harmon Killebrew AL WEST Anaheim: Oakland: Ricky Henderson or Dave Stewart or Eckersley Seattle: I like the Bouton idea but I'll say Mark Langston Texas: Tim Wakefield? J/K! Sorry, my favorite player although he was never a Ranger and I own the Rangers. I guess Frank Howard. NL EAST Atlanta: Eddie Matthews or Warren Spahn or Johnny Sain Montreal: Dennis Martinez New York: Mets don't deserve any Legends so how about Todd Pratt? J/K, Doc Gooden or Daryl Strawberry Philadelphia: Steve Carlton NL CENTRAL Chicago: Ron Santo Cincinnati: Johnny Bench Pittsburgh: Willie Stargell St. Louis: Dizzy Dean NL WEST Houston: Mike Scott Los Angeles: Don Drysdale San Diego: Trevor Hoffman San Francisco: Willie McCovey or Bobby Bonds

Forgot to add, if you are using entire franchises, Minnesota definitely gets Walter Johnson.
