While playing a game...
If I click my mouse before the message tells me to click (in other words, when the play-by-play is scrolling), the game - and my machine - pauses for anywhere from 10 seconds to 2 minutes. Perhaps this relates to my CPU 100% usage problem? p.s. I am using the Rolen rosters exclusively. My machine: Win98, AMD650mhz, 256MB RAM, 2GB free, updated drivers & directx 8.1 [ March 07, 2002: Message edited by: slackerjoe ]</p> |

The game DOES NOT lock up, it is still processing, you need to be patient when it "appears" to do this just wait when it is done it will return to a screen where you can interact with it again.
Just wait till the pbp finishes and you won't have this problem.

Thanks for your quick repsonse! I understand this is not a true "lock up", so I edited the title of my message.
That being said, are you saying that it is normal for the game to pause that long just from me clicking the mouse button before the play-by-play finishes scrolling?? I understand there are lots of calculations being made constantly. But pauses that long just seem excessive. thanks for your help. Gotta go play some more!

I still get these pauses to with my Athlon 1.4 GHZ, 256DDR RAM, so while it can get annoying at times, it's normal. To be fair though, I'm usually listening to real player or winamp, and surfing the net while playing
I wonder if another 256 MB's of ram might help though. |

I don't know if it is excessive, could be due to other programs being open, RAM or processor speed. I have no delays but I'm running a 1.2 gig system w/ 512 RAM. I do have other things open normally however....more RAM couldn't hurt.
