What Triggers Spring Training?

Just wondering what triggers the start of ST? Is is sequential (e.g., comes after draft), or is it based on a certain time-frame (e.g., #day/weeks before scheduled start of season).

It is just after the ammy draft (if this is set for spring) and just before the start of the regular season.

The off-season events occur like this:

1) Free Agency
2) Ammy draft (if pre-season)
3) Spring Training
4) Opening Day

They aren't really tied to specific days, but will happen in sequence with the game advancing the days appropriately.

I've had an occassional glitch where the spring training links did not appear. Even though I just made the last pick in the ammy draft, the spring training button and link does not appear. The only way I was able to continue was to exit and re-open the game, then the link would be there.

Stacy,

I've had a similar thing happen, but I've been able to get it to show up by loading another screen and then going back to that menu again without closing out the game. It's almost as if the menu doesn't get refreshed at certain times.

Are FA's released right after the World Series?

Not until the Proceed to Next Season button is pressed.

Thanks for the info... Actually I have been able to do the same thing you mention (opening another screen) except the last time it happened, but I'm not sure that the game knew the rookie draft was over. I think I selected the last rookie in the rookie draft and didn't see the spring training button. Even though I would go to other pages, I still wouldn't see it. So I went to the rookie draft screen and clicked the FINISH DRAFT button even though there were no players left in the draft. Then once I refreshed by either exiting or going to another screen, I finally had the spring training buttons.
