Unhappy Problem with first screen

I just finally bought OOTP5 today, but I have a problem when I start the game.

The screen that first comes up, with the game logo in the middle and three choices on either side of the logo, doesn't show what those choices are. There are just blank greyish rectangles that show up in their places. I can click on them and they work, but it's not a lot of fun figuring out what each one is via trial and error.

Anyone else have this problem and/or have any ideas on how to fix it?

Sounds like you need to update either:

-video drivers
-color depth settings

Thanks, Steve. I checked my Divx settings, and I have 9.0, but where do I check the color depth settings?

Also, I'm not talking about "Direct X", that's not the issue. Your "video card" drivers.

OK, got ya now.

I followed that link and I'm already at 1024x768, so that shouldn't be the issue. I'm set at the highest colors possible (32bit on my monitor), so do I need a new color profile that has more colors, or is there something else I'm missing maybe?

Your video card may not work properly at that high of a color depth, try lowering it.

Strange.... that worked.

I haven't had any other problems at that setting, and my card is new and good enough I figured it wouldn't be a problem.

Either way, thanks for the quick help and everything else you do for fans of the game.
