Exclamation A Good Team Looking For a Good Owner

The Elite Baseball League - EBL - has a vacancy and is looking for a solid, dedicated owner.

The Cleveland Indians are available.

Cleveland, Tom Shafer's old team, is on the cusp of greatness. Tom, who had to step down because of unforseen circumstances, has done a hell of a good job rebuilding his team and boasts a ton of young studs and studs to be. This team will be among the elites for the next half-decade or so.

The EBL is one of the toughest around, with some of the best and brightest owners going (Wedge, Gomez, Miskowski, Vandevisse, Fuerst, Grassi, Derby, Mann, Wolicki to name just a few). It is also one of the best leagues in terms of participation, as last season the ownership hit an astounding 93% participation level (sim in and sim out).

In terms of competition, there are few dynasties around, and five teams have won titles in the league's seven years.

We are in the midst of our 8th season, and the league originally started as an OOTP v3 league under Heath Peters in November, 2001, with 30 teams involved in an initial draft. In May, 2003, prior to the 2007 season, we moved to OOTP v5. The league has 18 games of inter-league play and the American League uses the designated hitter, while the National League does not.

As a commish I am a firm believer in participation, as teams that win are invariably those whose owners give a damn and do whats necessary to either get their team to the top or keep it there. As such, for each sim, I require at least an email saying "no changes". This lets me know that at least the owner took a look at his team between sims.

I am an active owner in the league (Vancouver Armageddons) and have been since the beginning. My team is now a regular season powerhouse, thanks to one hell of a fine initial draft and some crafty trading, but the Curse always, without fail, cripples me come playoff time, almost comically finding ways to lose when it matters most (that damn karma thing).

If anyone is interested in either team please check out the league site, the rules, and then get back to me.

When sending me an email, let me know your OOTP experience, any leagues you have been in or are currently in (URLs included - I prefer to get recommendations from other Commishes or owners I know in leagues an applicant is in, in order to avoid constant team turnover).

Cheers,

Dean Gordon
Commish - GMC, EBL, NABL
