computer knowledge expanding
I just finished installing sttfk's stadiums!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!It only took 2 months and hours of staring at Henry's explanation of how to do it. I am now profficient at Logos and Stadiums. In a few months I should be able to use a roster set. This game is amazing. If I tried this hard to at my job I would be on top of the heap.

I'm with you...it is so thrilling to a computer-illiterate like me, to download, install AND USE these wonderful mods in the game...after endless hours and days trying to find out how to install them...and then, finally succeeding.
dbacks got me through stadiums and logos. Dream Teams got me through Pierre's import/export player editor. TigerFan's tutorial for setting up a historical league got me though that. Ankit himself helped me with his Career Database. My next task are player photos. Wish me luck. |

Well one of the keys to understanding Total Minors is that it is not a database like Lahmans. It is actually a league file and you use it as such. You do not import players in, you open the league file like you would any league file.
Try that and see how it goes. |

I'll need to find out the best source of historical photos...will need 2000 of them...probably TigerFan...then how to download and install them. Would appreciate any help you can give...like step-by-step instructions. Which photo sets do you suggest? Last edited by Eugene Church; 09-02-2003 at 11:15 PM. |

twins15:
(Sorry, your Twins are the Minneapolis-St. Paul Twins in the Class AAA American Association) I have an All-Time All-Star League with arguably the best 2000 players in major league history. I have 4 separate leagues so I can have complete minor leagues. There are two divisions each with 10 teams in each league. I play a 162 game schedule, which I manually did, so the teams will play each team in its division 9 games at home and 9 games away. The two divisions in each league play for the title in a best of seven series: World Series between the American and National Leagues; Little World Series between the PCL and American Association; Southern Series between the Southeastern Association and the Southwestern Association; and the East/West Series between the Eastern League and the Western Association. Each original major league franchise and 4 composite expansion teams (Example: Los Angeles Angels have players from Anaheim and Texas). Also have Milwaukee Brewers (combined w/Mets, Rockies, Marlins), Houston Buffaloes (w/Mariners, Dbacks, Pilots), and Toronto Blue Jays (w/Expos, Devil Rays). Each Major League team has a farm team in Class AAA, Class AA and Class A. Each class is a separate OOTPB league...(I disable the minors in the game)... I promote and demote players at the end of each season based on performance using Pierre's Import/Export Editor to transfer players from one league to another. All teams are Human controlled. Originally, the Majors had players from 1900-1930, Class AAA 1930-1960, Class AA 1960-1980 and Class A 1980-2002. I'm in my second season and things have gone well. I also included Negro Stars, Japanese Greats and Career Minor League Stars. These ratings are not totally accurate as fielding, range, and arm information was almost impossible to find. I just researched it as best I could and then assigned ratings. These ratings are far from perfect, but it's the only way I could incorporate these great players in the leagues. I had a draft to decide which teams got these players....worst teams picked first. Setting up these leagues took 6 months. I think the initial ratings for the Major League players are the most accurate I have found. Neither the Lahman nor Ankit Databases was as precise as I wanted. In fairness to Ankit, I only looked at his Career Average Database and did not download his main database. If you have to use them together to get accurate ratings, then I would be wrong to question its accuracy. Both are wonderful and have pleased most people. I'm just too hard to please. I want perfection. And without the Lahman, I would be lost. It has been a tremendous help, but requires a lot of editing to get the ratings fairly accurate. I am a computer novice and will be glad to send you whatever you need. You just have to give me step-by-step instructions as to how to get the info to you. I'll be glad to share it with anyone who would like it. Soon I plan to add another league, Class B, which will get the game down to the smaller towns and cities like Lubbock, Texas; Pensacola, Florida; El Dorado, Arkansas and Biloxi, Mississippi. I will probably use oldtimers from the Pacific Coast League, International League, American Association, Southern Association and Texas League for it as well as 2003 players and current minor league stars. That will complete my All-Time All-Star League. It has been quite a project, but very satisfying. OOTPB IS A GREAT GAME...WITH GREAT DEVELOPERS...GREAT SUPPORT...AND A GREAT COMMUNITY.
