Need help with Pierre's Player Import/Export Editor

Pierre's Player Import/Export Editor is great and a big time saver for me, but I have run into a problem:

I have 20 teams in each of my 4 leagues, but only 19 are listed in the Import/Export directory trees.

What happened to the other team?

yup that happens, I think it's always the last team alphabetically tht gets left out. It's a bug in the utility but you can work around it by going to league set up and change the league structure by exchanging spots between teams. Hope it works.

Cuss16, Thanks for always helping all of us. You are a great plus for the OOTPB Community.

I'll try your suggestion.

Pierre's Import Editor is really, really great if you need to switch players from one league to another. I wish I had known about it before. It could have saved me weeks of work importing players and then revising their ratings last year. Thank Goodness, Dream Teams told me about this editor about a week ago.

Why doesn't OOTPB include such valuable editors in the game?
(it seems most of the editor creators would give them at no charge).

Although I've never used it, the Stickware Schedule Editor sounds like a good addition as well. Adding it and Facepacks are on my list of things to do.

I'm sure there are other useful editors and mods that could be added to the game.

Hope the OOTPB staff would consider them and centralize everything in the game, so we wouldn't have to go "here and there and everywhere to find them".

Yeah....I know I like things done perfectly...my way...and yesterday.

Move the missing team to ANOTHER division...don't try to move it WITHIN a division, that doesn't work...and then the missing team will show up in the import/export directory.

Remember to switch the teams back to the correct division after the importation/exportation.

To switch teams, go to "League"..."League Setup"..."Edit League Structure"...click "exchange" for the team that is missing from the directory, then click a team in another division to to make the exchange. The original missing team will now be in the directory and the second team will be missing.

I highly recommend the Stickware Schedule Editor, Eugene. The best feature is that it staggers the offdays so that you get different pitching match-ups. If I'm not mistaken, the OOTP ingame scheduler does not stagger offdays. However, a drawback for Stickware is that it won't give you a perfectly balanced schedule like thay had in the old days even though it asks you if you want a balanced schedule. It'll come as close as possible. But, there are some schedules (handcrafted by gamers) out there that can be imported, and are perfectly balanced.

Anyway, I really enjoy using the Stickware scheduler as it allows me to do other things like set the start times of games, during the week, nights, Saturdays and Sundays. You can set the start time seperately for each team. Some of my Metros teams play only day games so it's nice to see the schedule reflect that. I've happily given up having a perfectly balanced schedule to get these other fun features.

Dream Teams, I spend about 30 hours per league each time I create a league balancing the schedule, so my 10 team divisions play 9 games at home and 9 game away against each team. I staggered each team's off days so that I would not get the same pitching matchups and all teams would not have played the same number of game each day through the season. That way you get "half games" in the Games Behind section. Naturally, it all comes together in the last two weeks of the season and everybody play 162 games by the last day.

Monthly changes in the pitching rotations also would keep the same pitchers from starting against one another, if you don't stagger the off days.

It's good that the OOTPB scheduler keeps your "edited" schedule for each succeeding season, so you don't have to balanced it each season. I think it rotates who the teams open the season with...that way the teams don't play the same teams on the same date year-after-year.

Awsome, Eugene. Looks like you already have a good schedule that you've created by hand. The fact that ootp uses the same schedule format as a template for the next season has always impressed me, as well. What a time saver!
