Bring him up?

http://www.nwbl.homeip.net/Baseball/NW/p1999.html

I want to but it's July 11 and my team is 11 games out, 4th in division, worried about starting that 3 yr clock ticking but also don't want him to stagnate in AAA, the HR rating went from 5 to 7 last sim as RH BA from 4-5?

Just lookin for opinions as I can't decide

Sure, bring him up, but only if you're going to give him a lot of playing time.

Cool (and funny) player pic, by the way.

Send him down to Single-A. Now's the time to find out if he has the character and balls to keep playing even after getting slapped down.

I'd leave him in AAA, give him a chance to develop another point in hits, and not waste the pre-arb year.

He's ready. People get too caught up in this three year thing. It doesn't take a whole lot of effort to keep your team's finances down and work a good, relatively contract extension for this guy when the time comes. Meanwhile, you've got him for five years before you even have to worry about it. It's best to bring players up when they are ready and not worry about all that other stuff until you need to. That's how they'd do it in real life and to me that's the point of the game. Otherwise you are worrying about obscure game rules that bear little resemblence to real life practice.

I'd keep him down.

He's only got 8 homers in 90 games at AAA. That's not much for a power hitter. I'd wait another month or so, to see if he finally finds his power swing.

You could use the minor league stats as a guide, but as often as not they don't mean too much. I had a guy who was rated Good for contact and had a 5 rating in contact play until Sept in the minors and batted .256. I called him up in Sept and he hit .380 until the end of the season then he hit .450 in the postseason. He went on to win ROY the next year and was way better in the Bigs than his minor league stats. I have also seen a lot of power guys hit low HR numbers in the minors, come up and hit 30 in the Bigs. I have also seen many guys hit 25-30 HRs in the minors and do nothing in the pros. I look at ratings much more than minor league stats.

One possible reason for his low minors HR numbers is that until about 2 weeks (sim time) ago his HR was a 4, and it just increased to a 7.

Anyways, he did ok (batting 3rd vs RHP, 9th vs LHP) in first 9 games, 2 HR, 8 runs, 9 RBI's but only batted .219

I'll keep y'all posted
