Ankit Databases...which to use?
I see Ankit has three different databases: Career Ave, Normalized, and I believe a regular database. Which one do people prefer, use, what is the difference? Would love to start a league in the late 70's early 80's and would like some advice. Thanks.

Not 100% positive what the normalized on is, I believe it just normalizes players based on the different eras.
Regular: Basically the same as the original Lahman but the players debut year is changed to the season they started playing regularly. So Ty Cobb debuts in 1906 opposed to 1905, with much better ratings since its taking into account his 1906 season instead of his 1905 rookie campaign which started off bad. Career Ave: This one averages out a players' career and then gives the player ratings based on on the players' total career. I can't think of a good example of this but it would turn a player who batted .250 in his first 6 seasons and .350 in his last 6 seasons more or less a .300 rating for average when he is imported. Atleast this is how I understand it to work, perhaps I am completly wrong. I perfer to use this DB because it seems to me that you get more realistic notes, but I would really recommend either DB over the original DB. |
