question?

At 400rc.net we decided to wait for permission for hosting other users files. Do you guys think this was the right decision?

What about hosting files and sending an email or private message to the maker telling them our plans and to let us know if they dont want us to host the file? This would make it easier on us and on the maker, but I would like to hear others' opinions.

I think that permission should be sought prior to making anyone’s work available. There are many reasons why someone would want to control the availability of their work and it shouldn't be assumed otherwise.

I always like to get permission before I post anyones work but I don't always get a hold of everyone. I know some people are pretty intent on getting their website hits and if they have exclusive content that'll help. I'm for the better of the OOTP Community and don't really care about the hits I receive. If I normally see a file that's been posted on more than one site I normally go ahead and post it on mine but I always make sure to give credit to who done it. Of course if anyone does have a problem with this they can always email me and tell me to remove their work.

I like to have my work posted on as many sites as possible so more people can have access to it. I know some people are used to going to bigger sites like Baseball Sim Central and OOTPLinks and now the newer 400rc so some may skip over my little site.

ALso, if any of the sites out their want my MLB Skin or Ballpark skin or any other future work I may do feel free to post it onto you're site.
