What % of games do you actually play?
Just curious to see how everyone else plays. I'll usually play every other game for one week, then sim the next week, if I'm out of contention, simming most of the games.

Depends on my mood and how my team's doing. Overall I play about 75% of my games. But if I lose more than a couple in a row I sim till my team wins one and then I start playing again.
The most I've ever simmed is three in a row. I just like to _see_ how my players do. Of course that means I don't move very fast through a season. |

I play 100% of them. It's the only way I can really know my team.
I tried siming some when I first got version 4 and just felt out of touch.

i usually play most games, but will usually argue calls in order to get tossed and sim some games that way...as the season goes to the 100 game mark i usually sim games for pitchers who dont have anything interesting going on until 9/1.

I play very few games. Mostly just playoff games. Or important regular season games. On average, I'll play about 5-10 games over the course of an entire season, playoffs included.

I have one league I play out every game. I have another I sim exclusively. There are attractions to both methods.

I play 100% of my games. It gets me more involved in the "personality" of the players. The downside is that I don't get a chance to watch people develop through the years and create dynasties.
I bought OOTP4 in May '02 and managed the Giants. I lost to the Red Sox in the World Series in 6 games and managed to play through May of the next season before I moved on to another game. I bought OOTP5 when it came out and have been managing the Giants again. I'm currently at Aug. 12 in the season. Hopefully I'll go all the way this year. Question for those who sim - do you read all the box scores? |

Probably 90-95% for them, "for me" that is the only way to play.

I play one game a series until Sept. if there is a pennant race. Except the U.S. Baseball Alliance, my dynasty thread...that is all simmed.

100% for me unless my team is out of it in mid September. I enjoy the game management aspect of the game.

League 1: 100% (although this season has been on hold because I'm currently playing out my High Heat season)
League 2: 0% (A fictional league which I sim 100 % of the games) I usually have two solo leagues going at once, one where I play all the games (current season), and the other which I sim. |

I either play the first game of every series or I pick one pitcher at the start of the year and play all his games

I always have one league where I play out all the games....I get into the this league usually the best.
But I also generally have one or two leagues that I just sim...and usually don't even own a team in. Usually one Historic and one fictional. If I have the time...I play the first league exclusively....but if I don't have the time but am in the mood for some OOTP....I"ll run the historic or fiction leagues.... |

Play out 100%.
I tried simming but felt out of touch. It takes me a good 2 months to play out a season, but that way I feel it much more! |

Like Hollyroller said before, I have one league where I play out every game....but I am going to start another where I sim so I can get through more seasons and experience the GM feel of the game more.
