You think if you keep sucking up then you will get to be a beta tester?
Let me know if it works. |

mrskippy has not only applied to be a beta tester for ITP (in fact it is the only game he has truly expressed interest in testing), but he also has expressed interest in being the head of the
That's right, in an earlier thread I've asked to be community manager when the time comes, because trust me I'm going to know this game inside and out. I'm going to be the master of ITP. An ITP legend. No wait an ITP guru. And ITP god. I intend to become the expert at this game. I intend to post my career histories, everything, you name it. I don't have to suck up. ITP will be the best text-based game ever. Period. It will kick ass, baby!!! ![]() I want my ITP!!! Rock and Roll!!! |

I truly hope no level of sucking up leads you to being the CM for ITP. The Text Sim Gaming Gods would not do that to us.

I'm not sucking up. Go back and read some older posts from way back when. I've really, really been looking forward to this game more than any other game.
Regardless of if I beta test or become a CM you'll be seeing me around this board a lot when ITP is released. And I will probably be a big resource. And while I normally am not into the dynasty thread thing, I think ITP will become my big exception to the rule. As for the text-sim gaming gods, you're looking at one. Long before there was Sierra's BBPro, FBPro, FOF, OOTP, and now EA's foray, I was a long-time dreamer of text-based sports sims. In fact even in the late 1980s, I remember sending letters out to the gaming companies asking they create career based sports games. It wasn't until the mid 90s that we started seeing what could be done and until the late 90s before the true games (FOF, OOTP, etc.) came into play. I conceptualized a lot of this career based stuff way back when I was a kid, thinking how cool it would be to run your own simulated team. Same goes for airplane management (Airline 5), airport mgmt (Airport Tycoon), and a handful of others. Hell, several years ago, when the whole tycoon thing came out I posted thread after thread of how cool it'd be for a Vegas tycoon type game. Just look for them across the net. What happened not long after ... check your local EB or GameStop. |

if Mrs. Kippy is the CM for ITP, I probably won't buy it. Every fibre of my being detest the Mrs. Kippy user name and will definitely affect my thinking of OOTP Developments if they allow someone who slammed Markus ("don't trust foreigners" and "sue em") without merit only to get the offending thread deleted and make nice now.
The fact that he even post here has made me visit the forums much less frequently.

Yeah, sttfrk, and if I were kicked off of the forums I probably wouldn't buy any of the games. Hahahahahaha.
BTW, the user name is mrskippy, not Mrs. Kippy. Any use of Mrs. Kippy will be considered a slam "without merit." I apologized for the "don't trust foreigners" remark ten times over. I attempted to delete the thread, asked a moderator to help me, and they did. I think that issue needs to be laid to rest. As for "sue em." Ever heard of sarcasm? In this day and age of everybody taking everybody to court, it was just sarcasm. OK??? I've nothing against Markus, never have and never will. If I were in need of a programmer, Markus would be the first person who I'd offer the job and I'd pay him well. As for ITP, I don't care if I'm a CM. It really doesn't matter much, since I'll probably post here often and contribute quite meaningful insight, offer help to anyone who needs it, etc. The only reason I want to be a beta tester is because I feel that I can give this game the most thorough of run throughs and help quash any bugs (if any) straight out of the gate. Given my experience in beta testing (including on an earlier version of OOTP) and my ability to give this game a good workout, I'd be an excellent choice. Again, I've never looked forward to a game more than ITP. Not even FOF, OOTP, any console game, nothing. This is the game I've looked forward to before Markus even announced it. |

You should probably not take skippy to heart so much, sttfrk. He'd be a fine tester, IMO.

I think I went back and corrected myself. And alas, I agreed the move was a good one. Alas, I agreed that the problems were in the hands of some German domain registrar. That said, I wasn't only one espousing suspicion at the move. But if you wanna take this to another level, let's ![]()
Either way, most of us here would make good testers.
Sure we would. But: 1 - What is your testing experience? 2 - How familiar with the sport of baseball? 3 - How familiar are you with text-based sims? 4 - How familiar are you with RPGs? 5 - How familiar are you with psychology, socilogy, etc. in terms of taking on a persona in a game of this nature? 6 - How willing are you to dig deep into this game, test ever little feature, no matter if its a feature you may not care about? and just for the **** of it .. 7 - When was your first post in the ITP threads? |

Do you "wait" to be drafted by a computer AI team, or can you assign yourself to a team? Is it possible to make the jump directly to majors, ala Pete Incaviglia? Can you hold out and even sit out a year and be drafted by another team, ala J.D. Drew? Can you continue as a coach or manager after your playing days are over? is the ability to import/export from OOTP still going to be included? next?!?

By the way, what is wrong with being excited about an upcoming game?
Lemme see TDCB comes out ... chat room full of people hitting refresh. FOF 4 came out ... chat room full of people hitting refresh. TCY came out ... chat room full of people hitting refresh. Not to mention the countless people trying to figure out the URL into the order page even before the order page was announced. And never to forget those that downloaded ... hmmm... was it FOF 2 or FOF 3, from the Internet even before they were supposed to. By those standards, simply looking forward to a game, wanting to know more about it, talk about it, etc. seems pretty tame to me. |

Nothing is wrong about being excited about a game. My comment was directed towards the bickering between you and sttfrk.
