I've always thought about maybe joining a league, but I've been afraid of how much time might be needed each day to "work" on it, and I didn't want to commit and then have to pull out and look like a total loser (I can deal with partial loserness).
Approx. how much of each day do you find yourself using? I would be curious to hear from both Commissioners and Team Owners to compare. Thank you for your time, Robert

I am in a number of leagues as you can see from my signature. As far as time per day just depends, when setting lineups, etc. it usually doesn't take but 5 minutes, 10 tops to set it and send the file to the commish. Sometimes I have no changes so it is just time to send an email. Other times when talking trade with guys it can take awhile, but that is something that you may or may not be involved in during the year. The most time is probably when you have to get ready for the ammy draft or look over free agents for the free agent period. Those things happen during the off-season so you aren't sending in the lineups, etc. It also makes a difference how often the league conducts a sim and how many games are simmed at a time(the more games or sims the more prep work for the GM).
Hope this helps.

Robert-
It is what you put into it. I am in a couple of leagues and run one. I pearsonally feel that the actual lineup creation is no more than 5-10 minutes the night before the sim. Where you find yourself spending the most time is trying to work out trades/free agent pickups and just plain looking at all your stats. Most important it is really what you put into it. As a commish I just look for GM's that put a competitive team on the field. I say jump in feet first.

I had the same concerns before I joined my first league and it isn't as bad as you might think. The most time consuming part for me was the initial set up of the team and figuring out how the league ran. Once you get your team set up the way you want it, the daily management takes no time at all.
As I'm finding out now, the off season can be a little time consuming, but again, it's not that bad. If you enjoy playing in solo leagues, I would give the highest recommendation to an online league. It is a blast. Juvy

Time is an enemy of everyone!! If you have very little time, try to stick with just 1 league. As for time, it is not too time consuming...a few minutes to load arc and then make changes. The real time comes from improving your team, trade talk will be a key if you need to move bodies. Also another key part of leagues is articles or discussion you may do about your team or the league, dont get into a league if you dont plan to get your hands somewhat dirty.Whatever league you join make sure and read the rules so you dont get yourself into something you may not like.Lastly look for established leagues, as there is nothing worse then putting your precious time into a league that folds in 1 season...Goodluck!!
