Post Planning on starting a new league.

Yeah, I've been thinking this over for a while, and I think I'd like to start an online league. First though, I'd like to gauge the interest, and second, I need suggestions for a name for the league. It will be a league with MLB players, and many of the MLB teams (possibly replace or move a few). I would start it with a draft.

Anyone interested or have a suggestion for the name of the league?

If you are interested reply to the post.

Thanks,
-Ed

I am interested in joining the league, especially if the league would be using the new Rolen/GForce roster set. I have been waiting for a new OOTP4 league to begin with a draft and this roster set (should be quite amazing). As for names for the league, I have no idea. Suggestions: I prefer teams to start on equal grounds (fan base/loyalty/stadium size) but that is just my opinion, if a majority of people prefer the variations in revenues that a variety of stadiums produce that is fine as well. If you were to accept me as a GM, I would love to take control of the Mets. If you need to contact me: borgesos@clarkson.edu Thanks

If it didn't start with a draft I'd take the BoSox. I'd probably take them anyway but I prefer to start with the real teams

Cheers

I'm interested in joining. I prefer original rosters too, but a draft is OK. The problem with drafting is finding the time to actually draft all of your players. I also prefer that each sim only covers one week so more control of the rosters or lineups can be given. Maybe the Internet Legacy Baseball League?

I would love a team. Don't mind which if we are drafting from scratch. Don't really know about a league name though. As long as the league is well run and had active owners.. who cares...HEY how about the AOBL. Actives Owners Baseball League. hehe.

Internet Legacy Baseball League it is.

Well, if the Rolen/GForce set comes out by the time the league gets filled, then I will use it. Until then, send me an e-mail with the team you guys want to take. I think there is enough interest to create the league. I suppose that once we get enough owners we could put it up to a league vote whether or not to start with a draft, I prefer to start with drafts because it is more of a blank slate, however, if 75% of the owners want to start with real rosters, we will do it that way (I want to do it your way, but still I'd rather start clean, it will help teams like Florida, Montreal, etc. start even with the Yankees, Braves, etc). Markets will probably start out uneven, but fan interest may change somewhat based on the payroll...don't need teams going deep into debt after one season, although this may go up to a league vote. Sim lengths, etc., will also likely be determined by a league vote. I want all the owners in my league to have a good time, so I want to try to do as much as I can to accomodate your wishes.

Oh and one more thing, it is highly preferred that you have AIM or ICQ, since it allows owners to contact each other easily.

Send me an e-mail if anyone else is interested. For those who requested teams here already, I will give them to you, except SoxWin, since he was unsure at this point. Sox, you will need to e-mail me with a decision. Everyone else, please send me an e-mail.

The e-mail address: ilblcommish@hotmail.com

I will work on making a website for the ILBL this weekend. It should be up by Sunday afternoon, very possibly sooner than that.

Teams that are taken:
Mets, Tigers, Cubs.

One team will be changed. Montreal will move to Las Vegas, transferred to the NL West, and be renamed. The name of the team will be put up to a league vote once the teams are filled. I will take suggestions for it starting now. E-mail suggestions to me at the above listed address.

Hopefully the Rolen/Force roster set will be out soon enough, I figure it will still take a few weeks to fill up the league, although you never know. If it is not available, the old Rolen rosters will be used, but I will allow every owner to send me an e-mail to suggest a change in the ratings of 5 players (before the draft begins) that they feel are rated improperly. Details on that will be given out on the site once I put it up. I figure this will help to make the rosters more accurate.

All I ask in an owner is to participate, and use a little bit of baseball sense.

Thanks,
-Ed

I just sent you an email, but I'll post here too. Sounds cool count me in.

If I could take a new team and call them the Memphis Blues, that would be cool, otherwise, My choices would be Atlanta, KC, StLouis in that order.

Also, if you need some help with the league web site let me know. Take a look at my personal league: http://www.e9.com/my/mlb

I also have the web space avaiable if you need.

I'd be interested in joining. This would be my first OOTP league although I have a great deal of experience with Baseball Pro leagues as an owner and commissioner.
