Bowden, Boone, and Gullett Gone
Reds fans riot

Only a month after the World Series, the Reds have began rebuilding again, or so to speak. The team will not undergo many changes but the change that were made were huge. Carl Linder finally fired GM Jim Bowden after years of public outcry. Also in Linders slashing party were Bob Boone and Don Gullett whom many held responsible for the woes of the Reds. " I'm sorry to see them go" said Linder, " but changes needed to be made, and I felt the changes needed to start at the top."
In other Reds news Linder issued a public appologize for the 2003 season. " I would like to say to all Reds fans, and supporters, and baseball enthusiats, that I as the owner of the Reds appologize for the poor season of 2003."
Who will be the next GM, noone knows and no one knows how soon...Manger the same deal....all fans know is that changes is coming and change is good.

BTW, I'd riot if Bowden and Boone were still around at the end of this season.

Reds Hire Ex-Padre Kevin Towers
Towers to promote from within

Yesterday Reds owner Carl Lindnder announced the hiring of former San Diego Padre GM Kevin Towers. Towers is responsible for the influx of young talent now reaching the major league level in San Diego. " I'm really happy to be here in this great baseball town. I have alot of talent to work with and evaluate and I look forward to doing so." Towers said.
Towers also made a huge announced on who would be the new head coach of the Reds. "We have found a person who has won championships at every level. He also has worked with alot of young talent and he had been in the orgaization for 15 years......The head coach of the Reds is Dave Miley."
Miley has worked the last 4 years at Triple A Louisville and has worked with most of the current Reds....."I won a championship with these guys at Louisville, and now I hope to do the same here" Miley said.

Pentland and Duncan to join Reds

GM Kevin Towers and Coach Dave Miley's impact has been felt almost immedialty in the greater Cincy area. WIth the first signing of the season being hitting coach Jeff Pentland and great pitching coach Dave Duncan.. Pentland has gather a reputation for being a great players coach while Duncan in a legand in coaching ranks.
"These are two guys that good turn a average team into a contender. We know our player will repsond to their teaching with great enthusiasm." Miley said.

Towers make Whirlwind of Moves
Pitching could now be a strength

Kevin Towers made several trades and signings that will make the Reds a better team....While most moves were geared to increasing the pitching talents a few were made to bolster the bench. The first of three trades made sent Scott Sullivan and Chris Rietsma to Boston for reliever Chad Fox. Fox is a setup specialist and is at the top of his game. The next sent Ken Girffey Jr. (nad his 9 mil a year) and a minor leaguers for starter Aaron Hielman....Hielman is projected to be a soild 2 or 3. The final trade made was fan favorites Danny Graves, Sean Casey along with Jimmy Haynes to LA for Odalis Perez. Perez had a great season in 2003 and provides a solid lefty in the rotation.

As the free agent period wrapped up Towers made severl key sign...The most important was Roy Halladay, the ex Blue Jay ace. Halladay will be the ace for the Reds also and many believe he is one good season away from joing the elite pichers in history. Middle relievers Jose Jimenez and Steve Kiline were added and well and mr. everything Eli Marrero.

My game4 froze up and lost all info....I have to start over.....sorry I;'ll be following the 2003 reds......up to a few days agao when Lindner started cleaning house......
