I started working with your league file, but the ACE file you linked to doesn't have the LEAGUE_NEWS_BOX folder that OOTP uses for league files. When I generate HTML reports using this league file, it creates a few blank files that the OOTP History utility needs in order to function, like ltrans.html and lhistory.html.

I was able to duplicate the error you were getting (Run-time error '3021') at the same point (assigning free agents to teams) but I don't know if that's because the league file was incomplete or whether something else is going on.

When you get a chance, let me know if you can get me an updated league file that contains the contents of the LEAGUE_NEWS_BOX folder and I'll work with it some more!

I just DLed Koohead's file and looked. He has at least 1 player that had a CEI and is not listed as being released. That was the exact same problem I had.

Have you perhaps expanded lately?

I just ran into this problem tonight during the 1971 season, it was the first time I came across it and I know that I have had free agents placed on their correct teams but it had always been with the original 16 teams. Tonight I noticed one of the players released with stats was from the Kansas City Royals a team that was just added 2 seasons ago. I disabled financials and signed the player back onto the Royals and I had no problems whatsoever. So I am wondering if perhaps expansion could be causing the problem.

I'm not sure CEI is the nature of the problem, since I have had players with this type of injury and just left them on the DL instead of releasing them to save the full contract and never ran into the problem until tonight.

Nope it looks like that isn't the problem, I just got finished with the 1972 season and before I exited the game to run everything pertaining to the history, I released some potential free agent players from the 1969 expansion teams and everything went off without a hitch. There were quite a few players in the free agent pool this season who had stats with some teams and all the stats got properly added to their respected teams.

What's strange is that I was able to work with tcblcommish's data, which had the CEI that wasn't accounted for on ltrans.html, and I didn't get the crash.

thatis strange becuase that is my problem. There is no listing of a certain player being released and no actual release in his history and I am assuming it is crashing the program.

Career ending injury releases are never placed in the teams transaction news or the player's history, atleast I know its not when the computer does the releasing. Bob Lemon suffered a CEI at the start of the 1959 season for me and in his history it just says he was hurt on 4/16/1959 and the next line says he retired in 1960. And checking the Yankees transaction history for 1959 just says Lemon was placed on the DL around the time of the injury it makes no reference of him being release.

Hey AJ..what files exactly do you need? or do you need the entire folder?

I'd need just the root of the league directory and the League_News_Box subdirectory.

You don't have to include the following directories:

ALMANAC
EXPIMP
LOGOS
MESSAGES
PHOTOS

The Cato utility doesn't require anything out of these directories. Well, logos and photos, but that's not what's causing the problem here.

btw, I looked into the CEI player, and changed his team in the csv, but it didn't make a difference. oh well.

AJ, if you just need the html files that the Cato utility uses then those would be the league, lnews, & ltrans.html pages. It doesn't require any other html files that the game generates.

Koohead, I think I gotcha fixed up.

Haven't seen this one before. I was able to reproduce your error exactly and spent some time tracking things down.

Here's the problem : The league year is 2000. For some reason, when I ran the Exporter on that league file, it produces a schedule.csv file that lists the year as 1900 for each line of schedule.csv.

When I edited the schedule.csv to replace "1900" with "2000" for each line, it fixed the problem.

So, to fix, just open your schedule.csv with an editor (Notepad is fine), and make sure you edit the file so that each line shows 2000 instead of 1900.

I'm not sure why this is happening; it's either a bug with the exporter (version 1.00, 1.01, and 1.02 all act the same way and produce the schedule.csv with 1900 as the year), or some weird problem with the OOTP datafile.

Anyways, I hope this helps out!

UPDATE - Not a bug with the CSV Exporter. I just tried it on a different league file that happens to be in year 2000 and it exported the year on each line as 2000.

Something strange! Koohead, maybe the schedule was done in OOTP4 originally, or started out being a 1900 schedule, or something weird like that. Dunno.
