I just kept it the way it was.

I keep it at the default. If anyone has any experiences with other settings, please post them here.

I find the normal settings to easy, because you can easily get a 5star rookie for a 36-37 year old 3star player, who will decline very fast.

In my solo league I set Trade AI to one under "Normal" and "Favor Veterans." That's because (a) I have a crappy team (the Indians) I'm rebuilding with young players, (b) I rarely propose trades with other teams, and (c) when I do trade the "Normal" setting still seems too hard to get trades approved in my rebuilding project.

Once my team becomes competitive I'll revert to "normal" settings to keep the game challenging. The great thing about being able to change settings is it lets you play at whatever level of difficulty makes the most sense at the time. The idea is to have fun, right? In the long run ripping off computer controlled teams isn't "fun," but right now I don't want to wait 5 years to get my team competitive. Just my 2 cents ....

I haven't played around with the feature yet, but I have to say that this happens a lot in real life anyway. In the latest version of OOTP, a 36-year-old is still a risk, but not as much as in earlier versions. Also, rookies don't often turn out to be quite as good as they seem.

Hard, and favor prospects. This is very challenging, and since I'm trying to take the D-Rays to a championship in solo mode, it's very fun and competitive. The computer will rarely trade a 5-star or ever 4-start prospect without getting a lot in return.
