I don't particularly see anything funny about laughing about a guy getting injured. They were discussing it on BBTN, and it seems pretty clear it was just damn unlucky- the guy's been screwed in that department the last few years.
Sporr, as for the waste of talent line- the guy's a hall of famer right now- He might have been even better, but its somewhat ridiculous to hold him to standards higher than that.

Most really aren't laughing at Griffey, they are remembering the thread in Comments and Feedback where there was a big row over whether or not Griffey is injury-prone.

It doesn't have quite the ring that Ron- DL White has.

It's a shame about Griffey Jr. No one can be as unlucky as he has been. It has to be something with the way he weight trains or perhaps even the S word.
