pop-ups

Hard to explain this problem.......On OOTP5 when you view reports, a window pops up with the information. At first I thought it was annoying, but now it isn't poping up and I could use it now heh. Any idea why it is doing this or how to fix it?

I've also noticed that whenever I open OOTP5 there is a joi44.tmp....any idea what that is or if it is normal?

If you have a "pop-up blocker" running then you may have set that program to "block them", not sure but I don't know of any other reason why they won't open.

Just tried that to no avail. Are you familar with joi44.tmp? I've seen a few now....the joi is always there but the number varies and whenever I close them, the game closes too.

Also, I played around a little and noticed that the HTML is coming up but closing before it visibly opens.

Have you downloaded a pop-up stopper? Use Mozilla (or use any other browser w/ pop-up stoppers intergrated) and changed that to your defaul browser in OOTP?

Try to change the default browser in the OOTP settings to whatever you do not have in on now. If it is on IE or Netscape or Mozilla, change it back to OOTP internal browser. If on OOTP, try changing it to IE or whatever you use.

If you have downloaded Panicware, 12 Ghosts, Pop-up Cop, et al., try disabling them, or try holding down CTRL when you call for a report in OOTP. CTRL is the universal pop up allower in most blocker programs.

Yeah I got it to work now, but I use the external method, so it's not really the same but it works. It's not causing me any problems, just annoying that I don't know what this joi.tmp is and why it is linked to OOTP5.

By the extension I would guess that it is just a temp file that OOTP may use to hold data for a short period of time. I really wouldn’t worry all that much about it. It should have nothing to do with anything that you would be able to notice any differently.
