Rounding-Third Baseball League Finishes Season 1!

http://www.rounding-third.com

R3BL has just completed its inaugural season with the Houston Astros defeating the Minnesota Twins in 5 games. Starters Roy Oswalt and Brad Lidge helped pull the Astros past a 104 game winning team in Minnesota.

Oswalt finished his postseason with a 4-1 mark (0.71 ERA).
Closer Billy Wagner was almost equally essential to Houston's success. His postseason numbers were 1-0 with 5 saves. In 8 1/3 IP Billy surrendered 2 hits, 0 runs, 1 walk, and 11 Ks (0.36 WHIP).

Houston was not without its share of big postseason bats. 2B Jeff Kent hit .351 with a .406 obp. He had 2 HR and 7 RBI in 57 AB. OF Lance Berkman was equally impressive in hitting .333 with a .438 obp. He also hit 1 HR and drove in 5 runs.

For the rest of the league:
MVP: (BOS) Manny Ramirez and (MON) Vladimir Guerrero
CYY: (BOS) Derek Lowe and (CHN) Mark Prior
ROY: (NYA) Hideki Matsui and (ARZ) Lyle Overbay

R3BL Astros owner here. Just want to mention 2 players who are often over looked simply because they aren't big names, but certainly contributed in a BIG way to the Astros drive to the Championship.

Orlando Merced hit .385 with a .500 Obp off the bench with 2 homers and 9 Rbi's.

Jason Lane, the starting RF hit .396 with 2 homers, 5 doubles, 3 triples and 7 Rbi's.

This is a great league run by a dedicated Commish. Get your name on the waiting list.

On a positive note, your BrewCrew and complete lack of a payroll has given you about $19,000,000 cash to use from 2004 on out. The only real bright spots ratings-wise for you is your bullpen which pitched like complete crap in 2003. Ya gotta love a guy with a 7 ERA (De los Santos) holding steady with a 6.28 ERA and 1.77 WHIP. Sexson did have a nice season at .279, 41 HR, 110 RBI, .356 OBP.

Yeah, my bullpen has some good ratings. I have no idea what happened to them this year. But as far as I'm concerned, they can continue pitching like crap next season to to get me another high draft pick. Hopefully in a couple of seasons guys like Brad Nelson, Prince Fielder, Robert Simmerman, Pedro Liriano, and David Aardsma will be ready to perform at at the major league level.

Yea, Yankees Owner here, I'd have to say this is one of the best leagues on the internet, considering we are about to start BOSI and how many owners are active in this league(MANY MANY Articles... I have a website for my Yankees myself -which is turning into an AL West beat page-)

I just aquired Wainwright to my young rotation(Claussen, Wainwright, Pettitte, Weaver, Mussina) Mussina is the only old one in the rotation lol.
