Advice on a prospect

The attached file is the info on an 18 year old, 5 star starter I have. My scout, legendary for pitchers, says he belongs in AAA. But looking at his AAA numbers shows him just getting shelled. In AA he is very good, but not all dominant. I have moved him back and forth once with the scout always saying he belongs in AAA. Question, at which level will he most likely mature and not be set back? My managers at both levels are excellent for developing pitching.

I'd say he's been fairly dominant at AA. 31 hits and 11 walks against 36 Ks in 33 IP... better than 8 innings per start, ERA under 3. I'd keep him at AAA no question. Just MHO.

He's not getting shelled that badly in AAA, I'd keep him there.

I would say that 39/80 BB/K ratio at AAA means he is surviving there. I'd keep him there and let him sort it out.

Pitched another game last night in AAA. Went 8, only gave up a run. I'm hoping he's turned the corner and is getting it together at that level. I'll leave him there. I figure he's got at least another year and a half to two year there anyways before he's ready for the bigs. I was leaning this way anyway, but am thankful for the reassurance.

I would leave him there...also, what is your AAA team's record? His ERA will be inflated if he has a poor defense and his record will suffer if the team is doing poorly, so I'd take the AAA stats with a grain of salt.

Good point. Yes, the AAA team is below 500. My AA team he was doing well with is in first place.
