schedule.csv
I'm importing a first year into Cato's Utility... it is looking for the "schedule.csv" file in the histoy/data folder where commishjoe's exports go. That I can tell, a schedule file is not created by any of the exporter progs. Where can I get the csv output of a previous schedule that was not generated by Stickware?

Ensure you download the exporter from my site (link is in my sig). There should be a schedule.exe that will generate 3 schedule files for you that CATO's program will use.
Hope this helps.

Sorry to butt in, but the current release of Cato's OOTP History (5.3.0) does NOT work with the latest exporter available on the BOSI site. This is because a small change to the exporter was made to support a new BOSI feature and the OOTP History program hasn't been updated to accomodate the new format yet. You'll get errors if you try and use the two together.
If you're looking for the version of the CSV Exporter that is known to work with Cato's Utility 5.3.0, make sure you get it from Cato's support pages at http://www.jcato.net/downloads/index.html. Direct link: http://www.jcato.net/downloads/history/exporter5.zip |

Joe,
If you use Cato History 5.3.0 with the 1.0.0 version of the exporter located at http://www.jcato.net/downloads/history/exporter5.zip it will import the .CSV files OK. If you use Cato 5.3.0 with the 1.0.1 version of the export located at http://bosi.jpbaseball.com/files/exporter5.zip (which changes league file structure to support the No Arbitration and June Draft flags) when you attempt to import data from the CSV files, it will choke on league.csv with the following error: There is a problem importing line 2 in the file \league.csv. Open this file in Notepad, uncheck Word Wrap (under Edit). Examine the above line for odd characters, fix, and try again. [OK] You're exactly right about the new 1.01 fields being added to the end of the file - the only difference between the 1.00 league.csv and the 1.01 league.csv are the two additional fields at the end, the Arbitration and June Draft fields. However, Cato 5.3.0 doesn't like importing this file nevertheless, chokes on the error - this more or less makes it an issue with the Cato utility and not a problem with the CSV Exporter. |

Has this been corrected with the newest version of the exporter or should we still continue to use the earlier v1.0.0 with Cato's?

The Exporter isn't the problem, it's the Cato Utility. The exporter versions 1.01 and 1.02 put the new fields at the end of the .CSV files where they can be safely ignored, but Cato's utility chokes on that data.
To be safe, use exporter 1.0.0 with Cato's Utility and exporter 1.0.2 with BOSI. There's no reason to use exporter 1.0.2 with Cato's Utility, as it doesn't provide any additional functionality that Cato's Utility can use. |

Thanks for the insight. I'll stick with v1.0.0 without even thinking twice from this point forward.

I'd still continue to check the forums though, because chances are in the future Cato will release a newer version that uses the post-1.0.0 exporter properly.

I will continue to do that. This will be my first experience with using either utility and I'm hoping for the best.
