Three teams need owners with guidance, leadership, and without a crack habit.
The FBBL (See many links in signtature) needs three owners. Oh, many have applied. But I like having my owners online a lot. I added the AIM names of all those who applied to my list... and i've still yet to be able to contact them. Thus, the search goes on.
Here is the story of the three available teams. 1) Chicago White Sox The South Side is in the beginning of a renaissance. A Mr. Eegle_Eye had a vision when he reformed this once perrenial loser into a real contender, and it took off. There are many things that you will need to deal with though. Jon Rauch was signed to the most lucritive contract in the history of the league, at a whopping $24.5 million per season with still 6 years left. After posting good numbers of 22-5 with a 2.92 ERA, the Sox got the wins they wanted from him, but his numbers just didn't match the domination he had in the previous years. (2.04, 1.87, 2.19). They weren't getting their $100,000 per innings worth. What is worse, the money turned Rauch into a coke addict, and drugs are starting to ruin his abilities. In this offseason, he had a talent drop in hits, and walks. The once promising career of this young phenom may be in jeopardy unless he straightens up quick. Learning from the franchise players mistakes, however, 8th overall pick Anton Brown worked hard in his rookie season to post a respectable 3.98 ERA. Not wanting to fall into the same trap as Rauch, he worked hard in the offseason and increased his already amazing talent to an astonishing B,G,B,B,B. Unheard of this side of Seattle. The next Rick Ankiel has the league salivating, and would generate a lot in a trade. The next owner of the White Sox must have a good grasp of youth though in order to know that if they MUST trade this prospect... they'd better get top dollar by making it known to everyone he's available, or else the fans of the south side will be waiting for him in the parking lot. A solid lineup and some nice prospects makes this a contending team... and in a division full of contenders, it requires a skillful GM to push them over the top. 2) Texas Rangers ...forgotten amongst years of half-assed ownership, the Rangers franchise was once a competitive team with a great rivalry with the Cleveland Indians, both teams have fallen, and although the Indians retain their GM, Texas has been the AL Central's bitch for the last few years now. Whoever takes this team has a challenge on their hands, with some decent players, but no real studs, and a lacklustre farm system. Your role requires dedictation, and the first thing is to shed that "bitch" label. 3) Philadelphia Phillies A roar of boos reigns down on you from the fickle Philadelphia fans. You're stuck in a division with a dominant team who no one can approach, and a up-and-coming team that in a few years looks to be almost as dominant. So what do you do? Try to compete and fail? Try to rebuild and still fail? The solution is to claim the commissioner who is running the dominant Marlins is cheating without any proof, and leave. The Philadelphia Phillies are... and I say this with as much love as possible.... absolutely ****ed. With most teams I can give advice on how to fix things, but nothing outside of a natural disaster eliminating all cities on the continent save Philadelphia would help. And even then, I'm sure they'd find some way to lose. If you want to take this team over, you need to be beyond committed... it needs to be your job. Every waking hour devoted to it. Hell, it's the ultimate challenge. And if you can find a way to be successful in the next decade... you have my ultimate respect, and I'll tell JP Ricciardi that you deserve a job in major league baseball. To apply, just visit the site and submit an application, or catch me on AIM at FBBL Commish. Either way, i'll be waiting to talk to you on AIM. So, look around... enjoy... and if you're the Phillies, may god have mercy on your soul. |

I look forward to being destroyed repeatedly for the next several years!

Texas is still available for those who have aspirations of eventually sabotaging democracy and calling yourself the "president" but aren't ready for that yet so in the meantime you're just running a baseball team.
