edit league name
is there a way to change my league's name
the info is in league.dat I tried changing the file into a txt and changing the league name, then reverting it back to a dat file but it becomes corrupt I keep getting the error "INVALID PLAYER FILE" any solutions? I simply want to change the league name of the GFORCE rosters to MLB instead of 2003 Career League I've tried the reverse method of creating a new league called MLB and installing the GFORCE roster over it (without the league.dat file) but I get the same error "INVALID PLAYER FILE" |

In order to change the name of the league once it has begun you will need to use a hex editor and follow the specific rules for editing a DAT file. This could prove to be very dangerous if you do not know what you are doing and may cause more problems than it is worth. As a matter of fact, it may not even be possible to do without causing errors in the player or league dat files.
Here is the method that I find works best for installing the TotalMinors Roster Set, as posted in another thread, so that you may call your league anything you want right from the beginning: Unzip to a temporary directory Rename the Create folder inside the OOTP5 directory to Create-x Rename the temporary directory that the rosters were downloaded into to Create and move it to the OOTP5 directory Open OOTP5 and Create a Standard League Enter any name desired for the League Leave Manager Career Mode set to the default NO option for now When asked about the Fantasy Draft select NO After the league is created exit OOTP5 and open up your Windows Explorer Navigate to the OOTP5 directory and verify that the new league folder is there. Open up this folder and copy over any Logos and Photos into the appropriate folders Open up the League_News_Box and create a new folder called Players Extract the contents of the Histories.zip file that is located in the Create folder that you copied over earlier into the new Player folder Good Luck. |

Glad it worked. I have posted these instructions about everyday now for a week. It would be nice to see them included in the readme.txt since they have been requested so often now.

Yeah, the way Couriers says has worked for me like a charm for as long as I've played OOTP.
It seems to me that it would be simple enough to allow us to change a league's name, though.
