Bosi Help
I am trying to do the BOSI thing on my own CPU but sadly I am stuck at this line...
Now go to the c:\apache\mysql directory. Run mysqld.exe which will pop open a DOS box and disappear. Then run mysql.exe which will open a DOS box wth a prompt. You need to type four commands here: I do what it says but I get an error when I run the mysql.exe file but it flashes so quick I cannot see it. Any help would be great, thanks |

Hopefully, Springtime for Hunter, or someone else who has installed this locally will see this. I have never installed locally, so I don't know the pitfalls involved.
Sorry.

I don't see this question posted to the BOSI forums, so you may want to post a duplicate request over there as well, in the new Stand Alone forum that Joe created.
http://www.jpbaseball.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=12 I know that the BOSI forums do get some regular responses for help requests, so it may get your question answered to post it there as well. |

I think I had to run mysqld-nt and mysqld before I ran mysql then I was able to get the screen to type the four commands.

Run mysqld from the command line (Run command), and it should show you the error message at least.

It just does the same thing, the box appears and then clears before I even get a chance to see anything... SFH are you available to chat and try to help?

I'm hardly an expert on mysqld administration; I'm just a guy who got it to work once. If running it out of a DOS box doesn't work, and running mysqld-nt instead doesn't work, then I'm pretty much out of ideas.
