Speed up your in XP (and maybe OOTP)

Use this at your own risk. XP ONLY.

I suggest being very careful when dealing with anything that edits your resident progs. However, if you read the whole thread and ensure that you do not disable any progs that you need (like for IP assignment or cable packet handling), you should be pretty safe and these helped speed-up my boot time, prog loading time (in ootp, speed in general), and reliability.

I'd also suggest for one to try 2 or 3 at a time, reboot, and make sure everything works (internet, et al.).

As with anything, these are very subjective to your OS and how your system is set up. I think it is best used with a home PC. You may want to make a restore point. And, if you are uncomfortable doing this - just don't do it.
