Athletics to Vegas - Questions

Hey, couple of questions about the Athletics move to Vegas here:

Does this happen automatically in 2028, or does it need to be triggered or done manually?

Is there a proper stadium set up in the game for them to play in, or will it be some generic version?

If it is a generic stadium, has anyone made a proper model we can download?

Has there been any work done on setting up proper Vegas parameters (ie ballpark dimensions, market size, fan interest, etc)?

Does anyone have any experience with this that could share some info?

For context, I am part of an online league and we are coming into 2028 season (currently in December of 2027).

I rolled over a previous version into OOTP27, not sure if that factors into this or not..... but I'm past the 2028 season and the A's are still in Oakland in my league, so nothing automatically happened.

I'm personally fine with it, because Oakland is where they belong lol

You will have to wait to see whether it is updated in the next version or in the version for the 2028 season.

Nothing will happen automatically in game with regard to the relocation until it actually happens irl. Licensing with MLB would be the main reason why if you're wondering.

You need to make sure you have automatic evolution on and at least relocation ticked before the preseason starts in 2028.
Then the game does it automatically for you.
In my current save, I just went in the day before the 'event' and changed the settings I described above. Then I changed them back - no other things were changed over those '24 hours' but no more Oakland or Sacramento, instead the Las Vegas Athletics.

the game absolutely moves the athletics to las vegas in 27/28 in every sim ive played in OOTP 27.

I can further substantiate they do move in this game. You get a breaking news update in your inbox that mostly just says "Athletics complete relocation" or something

That's a pretty confident statement for something that is the opposite of what has happened for me in every game I've played.


In every OOTP 27 save I've had so far, the team moves without fail in 2028.

What an ignorant thing to say. I'll state the obvious.. it's not going to be in until it is done and the A's are in it. Licensing fees ring a bell?

I guess you could fire up "MLB The Show" and play in it there. Oh, wait a minute...
