Injury setting Question
I went through the forums as best I could to see if this had already been asked.
Is the Modern Day injury setting different in OOTP 27 compared to OOTP 26? Both are labeled as using modern MLB injuries, but the injury level has changed. For example, in OOTP 26 the default was High, while in OOTP 27 it’s now Very High. Does this mean the injury model itself has changed, or is it simply a different label for the same modern MLB injury frequency? Last edited by RedSoxFan02; 07-04-2026 at 04:56 PM. |

Very High is more reflective of modern day injuries, which is why it now defaults to that setting. I believe it indicates that on the setting choice too.
I like to use Very High for short term and High for long term. |

Great question!
My best guess, so take it with a grain of salt is that 26's High (Modern Day) is the same as 27's Very High (Modern Day). My reason is I think I read that they wanted something between OOTP Classic and Modern Day, which is the new High

I'm pretty sure it was a double change.
Injury frequency in both high and very high is now higher than it was in OOTP26. In addition to this, the default was changed to "very high" to better reflect injury frequencies that you see in the modern game. The reality was that in OOTP26 you wouldn't approach a realistic level of injuries even if you played on 'very high'. Injury frequency went up significantly over the last two decades. PS: according to me, if you want the injury frequency that you see in the real MLB of the last five years, you actually need to put the injury setting on 'Extreme' |
