Injured star never brought back up after minor league rehab

Running a historical starting in 1964 and now in 1966. I was looking to make a trade coming up on the deadline and Jim Northrup was available in a trade for John Orsino and Hal Reniff. When I went to Detroit to look for someone else to add to the trade I noticed Al Kaline in the minors. I assumed it was a injury rehab and in a way it was, but it was a never ending rehab. Northrup was in the majors playing right field with ratings of 44/47/39 contact/power/eye on a 1-100 scale. Kaline has ratings of 85/74/82. Kaline was injured on 5-15 for 5 weeks. He was hitting .407 when injured. He has now played 31 games in the minors with a .379 average. Why in the world is he in the minors with those stats and ratings. He is not currently showing an injury. I have played OOTP for every version and have never seen anything like this before. I guess it could have happened without me noticing because I don't usually dig in to AI controlled teams unless making a trade. There is NO WAY this should ever happen.
