Difference between ST and Exhibition Games
I'm seeking some technical advice regarding custom schedules and the mechanics of Spring Training in OOTP.
1. The Issue: Custom Spring Training Schedule disappearing I used the OOTP Schedule Generator to manually create an XML file for both Spring Training and the Regular Season. Settings: I set the Spring Training period to 3 weeks for an 11-game schedule. Problem: After importing the XML, I verified the games were listed. However, on the scheduled start date, all Spring Training games suddenly disappeared, and I received an in-game news message stating that "Spring Training has ended." Workaround: I reloaded the save and changed the Game Type from "Spring Training" to "Exhibition" for those games. They then proceeded without any issues. 2. My Questions: Difference between Spring Training (ST) and Exhibition Games: What are the mechanical differences in terms of player development, fatigue, and morale? I recall reading that "Spring Training" games have a specific impact on preparing players for the regular season (rust removal, development boosts). Does setting the game type to "Exhibition" lose these benefits? Correct way to use XML for Spring Training: How can I ensure that Spring Training games imported via XML are recognized correctly by the engine without being skipped? Is there a specific setting in the League Rules or a requirement in the XML structure that I might be missing to prevent the "Spring Training has ended" trigger? Any insights or advice from experienced schedule modders would be greatly appreciated! |
