Small Combine Request
I always set my draft combine follow list then promptly forget to ever look at that screen again. Instead of de-populating the list when the combine is complete, could the results be left up so they can be referenced on draft day i.e. the combine pool, who you followed, and who was popular.
Alternatively, and I've requested this before, a post-combine summary email similar in scope and design to the IFA practice emails would be helpful. Either once or once per day would be fine if there are coding reasons why one of those would be more difficult than the other. |

I make a "combine shortlist" so I can always have a way to look at the list.

Good idea. I underuse the shortlists because they can turn into admin work, but I do something similar for the Rule 5.
I still think the Combine itself is a half-finished idea. It's too easy to walk away without gleaning any information. It's an immersion feature, so it should be immersing me. |

1. chance to improve relationship (though I don't think it's needed to sign, it can't hurt). 2. League interest in the player. Sometimes I have a guy that the league doesn't seem to have a lot of interest in, but my scout is showing me some me ratings that make the guy look like someone well worth drafting. Nothing earth shattering. Just a bit of immersion. As to shortlists? They take a bit of work, but the results are worth the effort IMHO. This may be easy for me because of my slow style of play. Manage every inning of every game and review a lot of things in my league on a daily basis. IE scores, standings, all league transactions, etc. etc. While I don't look at shortlists daily it's not hard to keep them in the flow. I have shortlists for things like.. Draft Pool (sort for draftable players. scout to very high and move to draft board) Draft Board (can be used to draft from by filtering "on shortlist.. yes" to bring up the list while on the draft screen) League level: Spring training players brought up from minors as part of the 40 man and invites are put on SL's. Each level AAA, AA, A+, A, R has a SL so at the end of ST it's easy to return guys to the proper level. I also use these lists when making FA offers to filler players for my minor leagues. Player A gets a minor league contract offer and at the same time is assigned to the SL of the level I plan on placing him. Player comparison: I keep an open list to put two players to compare. Yes, there is the player comparison screen in the game that is useful, but it has it's limitations. Like it only shows MLB stats and other select information. A shortlist with the two players on it opens up almost any category you can think of to compare including minor league stats. I have more, but you get the idea.

Yea, my playstyle isn't as methodical. I set the initial lineup then sim to the 9th inning (and usually sim that too unless some bullpen/PH micromanagement is called for). I generally play about 40-60 games per hour. Most games take 20 seconds with some extra-inning affairs pushing 5 minutes. The rest of my time is spent on management screens. Much of what I'd shortlist can be replicated via other screens on-demand.

Yeah, shortlists and custom views are two items that are not always on your list to create, yet they both can give you a much better idea on certain areas of the game.
I always thought the custom views seemed "fiddly" and were not user-friendly to create; but after watching a lot of Old School Sports YT channel, he has a few that make things easier for him to squeeze more info into a screen. Shortlists on the other hand- I am embarrassed to admit that I just plain forget to do it, exasperating!

LOOKEE WHAT I FOUND
(I guess replies can't have images?) Anyway, under your Scouting tab, there is now a Draft Watchlist sub-tab. I have no idea when that was added! Hell, I'm not all the way confident it wasn't in ootp26 (pretty sure it wasn't tho!). |

Off the top of my head I couldn't remember if the list cleared after the combine or not. With you saying this, I figured it must have in your game. Quote:
