Good Players in FA Pool with Low Demands?

I've had multiple sims where Mason Wynn hits FA in year 4 or 5 and signs for $2 million per year in his prime. Just now Jac Caglianone is a FA at age 28 and only has a demand of $11 million compared to everyone else 3-4x higher. Is there a reason this is happening?

Computer doesn't recognize names, just ratings and stats. Are these player's producing? Maybe post screenshots and we can give a better answer

This happens sometimes to players who are extremely good hitters and mediocre pitchers, and has been in the last few versions. Something about the fact that they have a slight ability to pitch (2/3 out of 10 stuff etc) means the salary demands are lower.

I see it every playthrough with Caglianone and DeLauter, but there are always some and it includes fictional players generated in later years.

Oddly, it doesn't seem to happen for every player who you would think it might, but definitely noticeable on some players.
