Adding Real World Independent Leagues to a Fictional Game

I’m attempting to build a save with real world teams but ricitkonalnplayers (ideally without the hassle of deleting all real players). When in the league setup wizard for a fictional game, I only see MLB and KBO as available structures. Is it possible to add independent or foreign leagues to such a save?

You can input the leagues yourself and I would also check the Mod page for any potential list of players. Presently KBO is the only foreign league OOTP has the rights to using their players and teams. This was something that changed three or four years ago if I remember. i know they keep trying to add other foreign leagues to the game.

Thanks for the reply—what I mean is can I import the structure of the independent leagues that exist in the game into a fictional setup with their existing rules and teams?

what you can do is create an mlb league, with the indy leagues (mlb partner leagues), and edit it to your hearts content, save as a template and you can add it to whatever leagues you create.

They used to be in the game. One international league threw a fit - so OOTP devs deleted all of the other leagues from the next version, and corrupted peoples saves remotely for the existing version.

The irony of launching the WBC as a major feature in the game while 95% of the leagues you could play in the game 5 years ago are no longer there, making the feature virtually useless if you play any longer than 1 season. Leagues that it was absolutely fine to include in the first place (names of people are not protected - stratomatic for example is not a licensed product).

The short answer is no.

The long answer is yes but it takes a fair amount of work.

Basically, what you have to do is set up your fictional league with the wizard first. When you get to Step 5, click Advanced Mode

Then this brings you to the Create Game page of the league editor. Switch to "Advanced" then select "Import Template"

This brings up a set of three default templates, and then any other custom ones you made/downloaded. Here select "default.wtp"

Only issue is now you have your initial fictional league and all the default leagues. You will want to remove all the excess leagues. It is a little tedious, but you can knock out all affiliated leagues by deleting the parent league (in this case MLB has most of the leagues). Then you can start your game

As a note, the independent leagues may will have real players. Have not tested this personally. I know you want all fictional players, but you will at least have the structure needed

Unfortunately, it is not easy, but if you are willing to take 5-10 minutes to get the league set up it will get you what you want. Just make sure if you are interested in doing a league like this in the future, you create a template with your fictional league and the independent leagues you want. Even if you end up wanting a new fictional league, it is easy enough to delete that when using the template again, instead of all the professional leagues you do not want

This license holder (Konami) who had exclusive rights to use the "league that shall not be named" threw the fit. I'm going to assume there were likely threats of litigation involved in the direction of Com2Us.

Nothing was modified "remotely." It was included in a game update.

The same Com2Us that holds a license for the "league that shall not be named" but somehow it can't be shared with OOTP instead they had to corrupt peoples saves. You're correct nothing was modified remotely they just released a patch that nuked it for us without letting us know. Those of us using Steam were nuked without warning

I thought the Com2Us license was restricted to mobile only. Don't recall where I read that or if it's even accurate.

And no doubt that Steam users really took it in the shorts when it happened.
